May 1st pomp, pompadours and fascinators


It's May! So glad.

The May pole ribbons remind me of that lovely thread braid granny used to have in her sewing cabinet
And that reminds me of smocking. I had mixed feelings about smocking on dresses, partly admired it, some nostalgia and partly loathed it. Those were the days of Bishop dresses for little girls.
